Each member of staff has responsibility for just a few children ensuring that your child has an adult to relate to. Research shows that a key person approach benefits the child, the parent, the staff and the setting by providing secure relationships in which children thrive, parents have confidence, staff are committed and the setting is a happy and dedicated place to work.

We pride ourselves in the skills of our key persons and how they interact with our individual children. We have a member of staff who speaks fluent Greek, one member who is fluent in Arabic and then one member of staff using BSL.

We want children to feel safe, stimulated and happy within the setting and to feel secure and comfortable with all members of staff.

Your child’s key person will use their knowledge and experience to incorporate their next steps into play activities alongside the curriculum which will be tailored to their individual needs and interests. The key person will work alongside parents, ensuring your child is supported in reaching their full potential.

Each key person carries out observations on your child, keeping an individual record of your child’s progress. As our nursery is a small personal setting it is important for us that all practitioners form bonds with all children attending. Key persons and staff are available to discuss with you your child’s progress and development at any time.

We also provide regular parents evening to at a suitable time to meet with parents/ carers and discuss your child’s learning and development.

Ofsted 2018- “Story times in the nursery are delightful. Staff captivate children with their animated delivery. For example, they change their voices for the characters, use available props and encourage the children to join in with familiar refrains.”
